The top Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity rates available to New Jersey residents right now, ranked by term. Updated June 2026.

Rates move constantly in the fixed annuity market. This page tracks the top MYGA rates currently available to New Jersey residents, updated as carriers make changes.

Data current as of June 5, 2026. Rates are subject to change without notice. All products shown are available in New Jersey.

What Is a MYGA?

A Multi-Year Guaranteed Annuity (MYGA) locks in a fixed interest rate for the full contract term. Unlike a bank CD, growth is tax-deferred — you do not pay taxes on the interest until you withdraw. Unlike the stock market, your principal is fully protected.

Top Rates by Term — New Jersey

1-Year

The 1-year market is thin in NJ. The top option currently is GCU One Plus Four at 3.90% (AM Best A-, minimum $300). This product has a 5-year surrender period despite the 1-year rate guarantee, so it functions more like a rate-reset annuity than a true 1-year commitment.

2-Year

GBU Life Asset Guard Select tops the 2-year market at 4.95% (AM Best A-, minimum $25,000). Oceanview Harbourview 2 matches that rate at $70,000 minimum.

3-Year

NexAnnuity Nex3 leads at 5.75% (AM Best B+, minimum $10,000). Revol One DirectGrowth 3 offers 5.55% (AM Best B++, minimum $25,000) for those preferring a slightly higher-rated carrier.

4-Year

Oxford Life Multi-Select 4 is the top A-rated option at 5.25% (AM Best A, minimum $20,000). Oceanview Harbourview 4 hits 5.20% at a higher minimum.

5-Year

The 5-year market has the most competition. Highlights: - Heritage Premier Plus 5 — 6.15% (AM Best A-, minimum $10,000) — strong rate from a solid carrier - Revol One DirectGrowth 5 — 6.00% (AM Best B++, minimum $25,000) - Knighthead Staysail 5 — 6.30% headline but this is a simple interest product. The effective compound yield is meaningfully lower.

6-Year

Several American National bonus rate products top the list at 9.75–9.90%, but these include premium bonuses — the effective guaranteed yield is closer to 5.30–5.72%. Oxford Life Multi-Select 6 is the cleanest compound-interest option at 5.70% (AM Best A, minimum $20,000).

7-Year

Heritage Premier Plus 7 leads at 6.25% (AM Best A-, minimum $10,000). Knighthead shows a 6.50% headline but again — simple interest.

8-Year

Talcott Financial EverStead 8 tops the market at 5.45% for balances over $500,000, or 5.35% at $100,000 minimum (AM Best A-).

9-Year

Heritage Premier Plus 9 and Capitol Life Heritage Premier Plus 9 both show 6.35% (AM Best A-, minimum $10,000). Strong rate, solid carrier.

10-Year

Revol One DirectGrowth 10 leads at 6.00% (AM Best B++, minimum $25,000). For those wanting a higher-rated carrier, Heritage Elite 10 is available at 5.45% (AM Best A-).

A Note on Simple Interest vs. Compound Interest

Several products — particularly from Knighthead Life — advertise high headline rates that are calculated as simple interest. A 6.30% simple interest rate over 5 years is not the same as 6.30% compounding annually. The effective compound equivalent is meaningfully lower. Always ask for the GTD yield when comparing these products.

A Note on Bonus Rate Products

American National's Palladium MAX products show eye-catching 9–10% rates. These include a premium bonus that inflates the headline figure. The actual guaranteed yield at surrender is 5–6%. Bonus rate products can be excellent — but they need to be understood on their own terms.
